Angel #1.6: Sense & Sensitivity
Just after the episode where I wished for more characters, this one comes along and delves a little more into Kate. Still not enough characters, but it did set her up a little more. After Cordelia gets upset that Angel isn’t friendly enough, Kate, who isn’t very friendly either, gets sent to sensitivity training. The trainer messes up all the police, turning them into weepy emotional wrecks, making them inaffective, and allowing the criminals to take advantage and go free. Kind of lame, frankly.
The interesting hints at the story arc though was that the law firm, Wolfram & Hart, was somewhat behind it all. They apparently are becoming more interested in Angel. Kate had a little more depth. That’s about it. Beyond the lack of characters, I also am finding this series to not be so fun, compared to other Joss shows. There is the usual funny Joss-dialogue and stuff, but overall, not so much. I think this could be simply because Angel is the main guy, and as said, he’s a brooding loner-type.
