Lost #4.6: The Other Woman

I found this episode weird, like it didn’t really add much, but at the same time added a lot. I guess on thinking about it, I’ll go with the latter. It was kind of slow moving, and had a Flash Back, not a Flash Forward, so in that way it wasn’t as intriguing. But it explained more about Juliet, who I like a lot. In her Flash Back, it showed her relationship with Ben (or really, Ben’s with her).

In the present, Jack and Kate and Juliet are heading after Dan and Charlotte, who’ve split. Juliet gets spoken too by her old therapist in the forest with The Whispers, who says that Ben says Juliet must kill Dan and Charlotte. So… my guess is this therapist and The Whispers are related to time travel. Like Desmond in the last episode was going back and forth, and telling himself where to go, that’s how the therapist ended up finding and communicating with Juliet. However, Juliet doesn’t end up killing them, she decides she does not trust Ben and does not want to follow his orders. Oh and she’s in love with Jack, who kisses her back. Was it last episode or two ago when I was wondering why they abandoned that story? Well I guess it just came right back full force; right when Kate left Sawyer.

Ben also explained to Locke why he was trying to keep everyone off The Island–to protect it from Penny’s Dad, who wants to exploit it’s healing powers. Gotta say, this is the first hint at a redeeming “root-for-Ben!” characteristic (keeping The Island sacred b/c he loves it)… if it’s true, of course. Ben’s very likely lying.

Anyway enough with the plot summary. I’m trying to figure out big picture stuff, because without it, I feel like I’m losing interest. I just started to try to summarize what I see as the big picture, but it was too hard and felt impossible. Maybe next time…
