Lost #4.3: The Economist

Weird, I was totally not expecting FutureSayid to be a James Bond-like, womanizing spy!  And even more amazing, he works for Ben!  Ben is having him kill people on a list.  There must be some relation between that list and the list Ben referred to throughout season 3?  Also somehow, FutureBen has the skills of a doctor, as he’s shown sewing up Sayid’s gunshot wound.

Also in this episode, on The Island, a bunch of stuff happened.  The physicist guy discovers some strange time phenomenon.  Jack and Juliet, I noticed, don’t appear to be in love anymore–why’d they go away from that?  Jack spends much more time with Kate again.  Though she did just get taken hostage by Sawyer, who seemingly proposed to her.  Locke’s group is acting strangely.

Anyway I don’t know what to think about–Future or Present?  The Future seems to be thus: a handful get off The Island and become celebrities for suriviving and known as The Oceanic 6.  This, so far, is Jack, Kate, Hurley and Sayid.  Sayid is working for Ben as an assassin, in order to keep Sayid’s friends alive (which ones, I dunno).  Jack’s a drunk but also a surgeon again.  Hurley’s in a mental hospital.  Kate has settled down.  But these are all small micro stories; what of the big picture?  Who remained on The Island and why?

Also am I wrong to be missing all the Dharma Initiative stuff?  Where’s all that?
