Lost #2.19: S.O.S.
This episode focused on, for the first time, Rose and Bernard. It showed that Rose is all zen and laidback about things, while Bernard is a man of action. The flashback made that clear, in their reactions to Rose’s terminal cancer. And the story made that clear in Bernard trying to rally everyone to help make a giant SOS. The interesting twist–nobody REALLY seems to want to build it.
The ending montage: Hurley and Libby were happily goofing off. Jin’s happy to be having a child (though Sun looked worried). Rose is apparently cured. Locke is too. Sun, too. Claire and her baby are together. Sawyer’s comfortable. Eko is building a church. There’s tons of food now. Otis Redding records were being played in The Hatch! How much happier could everyone be? They’ve got Otis! Why would they ever leave?
Other stuff: Jack and Kate went out into the Island to try to trade Balloonist for Walt. They couldn’t find The Others, but Michael came running up and crashed in front of them, looking beat up. Locke tried to draw the Blacklight Map from memory. Balloonist gave an evil grin when Locke got frustrated, trying to find out if he actually entered the numbers in the computer or not.
