Lost #2.8: Collision
This episode is back to normal, after the last few–characters clashing, flashbacks, little side stories.
The collisions of the title were many. Jack & Kate were battling at golf. Bernard & Rose and Jin & Sun reunite. Jack reacts rashly, as usual, when Eko returns with Sawyer. They seem to be implying Kate has feelings for Sawyer. Ana Lucia ties up Sayid, who is raging over Shannon’s death. Michael & his dog return. Not all these little collisions were confrontational, but they were a result of the big confrontration–the two groups of survivors finally meet.
As to my wondering whether the Back Of The Plane gets flashbacks… yes. At least Ana Lucia did, she’s a cop in LA who was shot, killing her unborn child, which I assume was why the father left her? She then went and served up some vigilante justice on the man who shot her in a parking lot. Explains a lot of the rage Ana has had, and I guess why she’s worked so hard to protect everyone in her group. She sure has killed a lot of people though.
Some of her flashback took place in Westwood near UCLA, Locke was shown doing crossword puzzles (where’d he get those?), and Jack and Kate were playing golf on the beach. This all seems very much like my life!
