I didn’t really like season 3, but it was saved by Wesley being awesome, Fred being fun, and this final episode which sent everything into chaos:

1. Wesley shows he lost his soul (figuratively, not literally) as he has an affair with Lilah and treats her horribly
2. Lorne leaves
3. Cordelia ascends to a higher dimension (literally, not figuratively) right after realizing she loves Angel
4. Connor fights Angel, and instead of killing him, locks him in a box and tosses him into the ocean, where he’ll live forever since he can’t escape and doesn’t need air

I don’t know what affect #1 will have but I hope it’s explored in season 4. I assume Angel will be rescued somehow. I have no idea what’s going on with Cordelia, or if Lorne comes back. But this season finale made me interested in the next season which I kind of wasn’t up until this point.
