Angel #2.16: Epiphany

I was right, Angel didn’t go evil. The scene where he realizes this was very much like the one where he went evil after sleeping with Buffy, stumbling out of bed into the rain. But he didn’t. Surely for the reason I just said, no way that Darla is his ultimate happiness. So then he goes and saves Kate from her suicide attempt. Then he goes and saves Wesley from some demons. Then Gunn shows up, and they all go save Cordelia who has had the creepy third eye put in the back of her head. Also Lindsay is upset at Angel because he loves Darla, so he kicks Angel’s ass. Then Angel goes entirely existential, saying how he understands now that there is no purpose, just the decisions he makes. And he’s deciding to help people. Then he goes back and says he wants Cordelia, Wesley and Gunn to hire him. They’re not sure, but they do. Angel’s descent into dark madness, while remaining good, is over! Unfortunately, because the whole storyline was awesome. What’s left in the story? There’s still a bunch more this season. Angel told Darla to leave, and she apparently did (she left Lindsay’s apartment). So I guess she’s done for now? Not sure where they will go now…
