Well, right after Wesley showed up to great hilarity, this episode was almost unbelievably dark. Darker than usual! As said, Angel is always shadowy and brooding and haunted by his past and lost love with Buffy. This episode topped that all off with Angel having nightmares in his sleep of a murderer. The dreams were coming true, and all signs pointed to Angel being the killer. Turns out, it was another vampire who Angel had sired a few hundred years ago. It was super episode, just dark. Also, the characters all seem to indicate that there’s some thing going on between Angel and Kate (they looked at each longingly a few times early on; tho Cordelia said they don’t realize it yet). So naturally, that can’t happen and she had to find out right at the same time that he was a vampire. Ah Joss you evil creator!
