Holy moly, I did not expect that! So last episode, Angel was happy and alive and with Buffy, but he had to sacrifice it all for the fight against evil. This episode, Doyle’s turn. He finally gets Cordelia interested in him…and then he dies! I’m pretty shocked. As I keep saying, the show has only 3 characters. Angel, Cordelia and Doyle. And two of those felt like they were mostly to lighten the mood! For the writers to kill of one of them only 9 episodes in, that’s crazy and impressive.

Doyle was of course also a plot device, with his visions of troubled people who Angel could then help. How will he know who to help now? I am curious how that will be handled. Is he actually dead? Is there ever going to be a seasonal arc story, or what?
