Lost #1.7: The Moth

Like a moth out of a cocoon, Charlie out of his drug addiction and Jack out of a cave-in. That’s what happened this episode.

Charlie became a hero, after a weird flashback where he was the good guy in a Manchester rock band while his brother was the drug-taking womanizer, then he confronts his brother about it, the confrontation does not work, and then suddenly Charlie is the drug-taking womanizer while his brother has a picket fence, green lawn, and a daughter in Australia. The turn-around there was quite sudden. Too sudden. This flashback did not work for me, even though I quite like Manchester rock bands.

Jack, after surviving his plane falling from the sky with but a scratch on his cheek, this episode survived a cave caving-in on him with but a dislocated shoulder. I hope in later episodes, they explain why he’s indestructible.

Then someone hit Sayid in the head with a big stick, which was the best cliffhanger/suspenseful thing yet in the series, probably due to the complete surprise, the quickness in which it happened, just as he successfully figured out the antenna triangulation thing. My first thought was, “Was it Sawyer?” But I do not actually think it was, I have no idea.
