Back at the end of Season 3, FutureJack was a mess. Then they showed FutureJack telling FutureKate he loved her, but he did not want to see Aaron, who FutureKate was raising. This episode showed FutureFutureJack, who apparently changed his mind, and was living happily ever after, raising Aaron with Kate, who never wears pants around the house. Then FutureFutureFutureJack was told by Hurley that they’re all dead, they’re in heaven, and that explains his happiness–so he resorts back to being a mess again: drinking and jealous and all that.

This is all contrasted with Jack on The Island, who is all strong and leaderly and determined. Except at the moment, he was weakened by appendicitis. Which is weird, because nobody gets sick on The Island, right? It must be related to Ben’s summoning of The Smoke Monster, that’s my theory.
