This episode continued with further surprising discoveries about the survivors, as well as forcing them to act in uncharacteristic ways. His flashback has him conning a conner so that his sentence could be commuted, and to help his daughter (Sawyer’s a father!). And on The Island, he’s conned himself by The Others into thinking that if his heart rate goes over 140, it will explode. This made Sawyer very un-Sawyer-y.

Sawyer was told at the end about The Others con however. Ben tells him it was to gain his respect. I hope that it has the opposite affect, and that it just pisses Sawyer off. He’s a man of emotion, even though he always appears cool. Hopefully Sawyer will use this as motivation to get out and revenge.

Other than that, it appears that Jack is being held prisoner in order to help save one of The Others who has a spinal tumor. Oh and Desmond predicted the future again. What’s that about?
