Lost #2.7: The Other 48 Days
Yay, this episode made up for the last lame one! And very interestingly, ended at exactly the same point in time, with Shannon being shot. So it’s especially cool how it WAS NOT LAME!
The story of this episode was the 48 days the Back Of The Plane spent on the island, and what they went through. Members of their group were being picked off–creepily by The Others, who somehow had a list of their names. But eventually Ana Lucia (I finally learned her name, so I won’t use Pretty Bossy Lady anymore) figured out they had a spy among them, and killed him. There were no flashbacks on this one, just a run through the 48 days in rapid fire, entirely focused on the other group.
The point the two episodes left off was a good one (Shannon being shot). I’m curious the effect of shooting Shannon will have on Ana Lucia–she’s killed a bunch of people in the 48 days, and was good at getting info from people. Maybe she’s like Bizarro Sayid! It’s cool how she flirted with Jack in the airport before take-off, seeing as how they’re the two de facto leaders of the groups. Also, of course, I’m curious what effect Shannon being shot will have on Sayid.
Really, I’m not sure what to make of Back Of The Plane. Main characters? Side people who are just there for some antagonism of the main characters? Some sort of Bizarro world parallel to the Real Lost Group? Will Back Of The Plane ever get flashbacks and stories?
Still no real hint at what The Others are–besides the spy guy who Ana Lucia killed. Also, no idea what that creepy whispering was. I think that’s what I’m mostly curious about now, after the last few episodes. I’ve already dropped The Hatch and Dharma from my curiousity!
