Just when I wished for a more entwined story, that’s exactly what shows up. It’s like the writers realize what they’ve been neglecting–here, Angel investigations–so they write one. Now Angel has a son, he becomes focused on making money… as do everyone else who works there (except Cordelia, which is ironic). So they set up a website, and suddenly get lots of calls to help. This leads everyone on different stories: some demons want to take Fred’s head, Angel chases a vamp nest, and Wesley & Gunn help some girl who is stalked by her zombie ex-boyfriend. I think all episodes should be similar, working everyone’s paths together. This one ended a little forced though, as they all just showed up to help save Fred. They hinted more at all the romantic stuff too, as both Wesley and Gunn show affection for Fred again. Also, it ended with Cordelia and Angel pretty close too. And there was a moral when Angel realized that money isn’t everything.
