The first episode of season 3 had a lot to do. Angel found out Buffy was dead at the end of season 2, so they had to have him come to terms with it. So the last 3 months, he was off somewhere greiving, and when he comes back Cordelia annoyingly keeps telling him everything will be find and asking him if he’s ok with Buffy. He says he is, and demon-fighting can resume! Meanwhile they set up a lot of story, but very slightly, which was kind of cool. They showed Cordelia is struggling big time with her visions, which I assume will be part of the story somehow. What are they doing to her? I think in past episodes Angel said it’s meant for demons to have these visions, and since she’s human it will mess with her. Hopefully it won’t kill her. Also part of the new season is Fred, who spent the last 3 months in her room writing maniacal ramblings on the walls! Charming! And finally, the show ended with Darla in Nicaragua… pregnant. I didn’t see that coming! And I can only assume it’s Angel’s baby? If so, that promises a whole new Buffyverse mess.
