All the Darla excitement builds to this, what clearly is going to be a high point of the series. Lots of flashbacks tell the story of The Master siring Darla, Darla and Angelus killing people, Drusilla siring Spike, etc. All sorts of Buffyverse lore. Pure awesome.

In the present, Darla The Human is suffering the weight of all her evil, just like Angel did once he got his soul. However, unlike Angel, she starts to crack up. She wants Angel to turn her back into a vampire. She wants to be killed, she can’t stand having a heart and a body full of life (ie., dying). Angel refuses, which clearly haunts him–he wants to help everyone. He needs to help. But he refuses, so she runs off. Everything about this episode was amazing. I kind of wish there was a series just of Darla/Angelus/Drusilla/Spike wreaking havoc through the centuries.
