“War Zone” was pretty well-written and interesting as a standalone episode. Not sure if it added much to any greater Angel story, though there was a hint at the end that it might have. It starts in a rich software billionaire’s party (Michael Bolton from Office Space), who hires Angel to protect him from a blackmailer. Angel goes to find the blackmailer, and while doing that, a gang of homeless vigilante vampire fighters (in hilarious pickup truck with giant stakes tied to the front) find him. Fancy party -> street gang dichotomy. In the end, they realize Angel is helpful. I think their leader is what the show added to the story–sounds like he might become a regular? If so that’s cool, he seemed fairly interesting, and not like any other typical Buffyverse characters.
