Twin Peaks #1.6: Cooper’s Dreams

I cannot figure out why I have been unable to get into the swing of this show. I like it, I enjoy the story and am interested, it’s mysterious and intriguing. But I just don’t get in any momentum of watching it, like with other shows, when I watch one or two a day until I’m done. As it is, the show is feeling like an afterthought. But maybe starting now I’ll get into finishing it off! Of course I’ve thought that before.

This episode feels typical. Little discoveries are shown, story arcs moved forward, but nothing big. Perhaps that’s why I’m not as hooked; it just moves along, without the big dramatic moments. I blame Lost for such expectations. What happened here: the police went to the Log Lady and to a cabin which reflected Cooper’s dreams, Laura Palmer’s cousin started to help Laura’s friends, Shelly shot her no-good husband, the boring story about the logging mill continued, Laura’s Dad acted crazy again. Norma’s ex got paroled, and appears to be tied to Laura and/or Shelly’s no-good husband somehow. I guess that’s another reason I’m not entirely hooked the same–I have not developed any theories at all on my own here. But that’s a chicken/egg problem… maybe I have no theories because I’m watching so sporadically, not watching sporadically because I have no theories.
