This episode was not particularly scary or creepy or paranoid or anything, but it totally wigged me out anyway. I’m not sure why. It was fairly well-written, twisting the bad guys into good guys and back and forth and back again.

Right in the beginning, Scully says “I know it’s not an X-File” but we should go investigate, and they do. They look into a Preacher Man, who is making tons of money with his son, who heals people. Until he stops, and a couple of people die when he touches them. The show seems to be setting up as an anti-preacher message, but then Mulder starts to believe in Son Of A Preacher Man and it turns out he wasn’t responsible. There was lots of talk about the Devil and the Lord, and Son Of A Preacher Man taps into Mulder’s pain (his lost sister). All in all, pretty solid, if not a little cliched.
